The Technological Business Olympiad «TechStart» (“ProActive” Project)

The Technological Business Olympiad «TechStart» took place at VSTU. This strategic project is aimed at the establishment of the regional center of the project engineering competences for the initialization and support of the project activity in the district. The project includes the complex of the contest events in the engineering creativity and technological business.
The «TechStart» is focused on the formation of the business activity realized by the students of the technical profile and the competences in the Technological Business and Projects Management Areas; support of the students with the creative thinking who are able to set and solve the tasks at the confluence of the science and business.
The Olympiad was organized in 2 stages. The first selective stage “Techno Initiative” is the extra-mural tour. The students presented their projects in the format “From the ideas to business” in the profiles:

the ideas for the markets of NTI (АeroNet, MariNet, AutoNet, EnergyNet, FoodNet, SafeNet, MediaNet, HealthNet, NeuroNet, FinNet, TechNet, FashionNet);
-
new materials;
-
new technologies;
-
new vision of “old things” (re-engineering, technological brokerage);
-
“#Watched” (reverse engineering).
48 entries were submitted to the experts’ council and the jury selected 28 works.
The second intramural stage “Techno Olympus” took place on the 14th of November. The students came to defend their projects in the format of pitch session.
The members of jury selected 5 best projects: “Electronic assistant “Cook KUKI” (first place), “Production of uncooked smoked sausage “Metwurst” (second place), “Technology of the production of fruit and vegetable chips with low oil content” (third place), “Formation of the systems of the micro-relief of the surface of the machine details in the production conditions” and “Production of the methodological and methodic assurance of the events in the certifications of the cutting instruments for metalwork”.
The winners got the diplomas and prizes. They can get the further support of their projects and present their work in the next contest “Fair of Projects” that will take place in December.
