Athletes of the flagship university became the best in the city in arm-wrestling competitions

City championship in arm wrestling was held among students of higher educational institutions on March 28, in Volgograd. Competitions were held within a framework of the World University Games with participation of students from eight universities. Men competed in five weight categories: under 60 kg, under 70 kg, under 80 kg, under 90 kg and over 90 kg, while women competed in four weight categories: under 55 kg, under 65 kg, under 75 kg and over 75 kg.

Team of the regional, flagship, technical university took the first place in the overall standing! Victory of the team became possible due to the students’ contribution: they have climbed winners' podium in the individual competitions. Thus, Rudolf Maiorov (Faculty of food technology) won the 3rd place for the overall ranking, silver medals were brought by Yulia Serokaschenko (Faculty of construction, housing and utilities infrastructure), Dmitry Lyapin (Faculty of automobile transport), and Viktoria Tsutskeridze (Faculty of Technology of Construction Materials), while Marina Sivolobova (Faculty of automobile transport), Vladimir Lavrentiev (Faculty of Transport, Engineering Systems and Technosphere Safety), Narek Vardanyan (postgraduate student) and Anastasia Maksimova (Faculty of Technology of Construction Materials) won gold medals.
