The “JuniorActive Project”: the participants of the project won in the XIX winter open Spartakiad in technical sports

The XIX winter open Spartakiad in technical sports took place on the base of the secondary school № 111 of Soviet district on the 21st of January. The teams from the different districts of the regional center represented the children’s associations of aviation design sport. The children tried their hand in launching of three air models: “fly” helicopter and two gliders. The distance and accuracy of the flight operation were the estimation criterions.
Headed by the leading teacher of the Technical Modeling Area Dmitry Ignatiev, the team of VSTU was represented by the children studying the programs of project education at the Pre-University Training Faculty within the framework of the strategic project “JuniorActive” of the Flagship University Development Plan: Arina Sadchikova, Angelina Sadchikova, Rostislav Kurmakaev, Mark Ivanov, Dmitry Tushev and Tatiana Shlennikova.
The children’s efforts were appreciated: Dmitry Tushev became first in the category of the free-flight models “Glider model F1N” and Rostislav Kurmakaev was second. The winners got the memorable diplomas from the Educational Department of Volgograd Administration.
The Head of the Chair “Physical Education” G.A. Ushanov helped the team with the preparation to the competitions. The gym of the Flagship University turned into the “Aviation base” for the flying models.
