The Library Night

The annual fest of reading “Library Night” took place in many Russian cities including Volgograd on the 21st
of April. It’s the 6th year our city has participated in this event.
The “Library Night” is the annual fest of reading that takes place in Russia in April. All the libraries, book shops and literature museums extend time and format of their work. It was initialized by the library community and the Culture Managers Association in 2012.
The students from the Economics and Management Faculty of VSTU decided to participate in the event and organize their own platforms for the guests. The students from other faculties helped them. They visited Volgograd Regional Library named after M. Gorky and Volgograd Regional Youth Library.
The activists from the Economics and Management Faculty organized the game about the songs dedicated to our Motherland: the participants had to guess the name of the song and its singer, listening to the melody. The winner got the certificate for the free excursion from Tsaritsyn.rf. The second game was “The visiting card of the Region” where two teams had to draw the best conceptual walking route to the places of interest of our city for the international tourists. Every team got the sweet prize.
This “Library Night” was rich in cultural events for the citizens: circus show, art tutorials, Russian folk music, Planetarium and the competitions of robots.
