The traditional Regional Natural History lectures "Native Shore" were organized at VSTU for Volgograd students and pupils with interest in history.
After the plenary meeting it was time for the work of 5 sections: “Travelling in space and time”, “Memory Chronicle in stone”, “My dear countrymen” , “Mentality of the native city” and “My native shore: remarkable is near!”. The fifth section gathered the finalists of the Inter-University Students' Social-Humanitarian Olympiad. More than 70 reports were submitted in the lectures.
Kirill Podshivalov dedicated his report "Contrary to death" to his grandfather Nicolay who had taken part in the war, survived after the horror of the detention camp and educated the children and grandchildren. Kirill used his grandfather's memories and family archives for his work in the section “My dear countrymen”.
Elena Blisnyakova, Darya Boldyreva and Sofia Bondarenko presented the report "They fought for the Motherland..." about the battle-front veterans in the section “My native shore: remarkable is near!”. Milena Ovsyannikova prepared the report "Geological past of Volgograd District".
Anna Dombrovskaya told about the formation of Volzhskiy hydro-electric power station in the section "Travelling in space and time ". Katerina Gershengorin compared 2 battles in the work "Stalingrad Battle - Cannes of the ХХ century".
The experts appreciated the interesting works and selected the best reports. The winners got the diplomas and prizes during the closing of the traditional Regional Natural History lectures.
