VSTU in the ranking of the Russian best universities RAEX-100 (2020)

Volgograd State Technical University is in the list of top 100 best Russian universities.
The rating agency RAEX has made the ninth annual ranking of the best Russian universities RAEX-100.
The Russian universities have achieved the greatest progress in terms of the criteria, which are connected with international integration - number of scientific publications and their citation- as well as according to the number of foreign students.
In general the level of international integration is the main competitive advantage for technical universities which allows to occupy high positions in rankings these days. Besides it is relevant not only for scientific researches but also for the educational activity.
The pandemic disease has caused the beginning of big changes for the higher school of Russia and for the whole world. We will probably face the decrease of students' mobility and the rise of influence of information technologies on the competitiveness of the universities.
The statistical indicators and the results of inquiry of more than 60 thousand respondents: representatives of academic and scientific circles, students, graduate students and employers have been used in the preparation of the list.
Methodological approaches to the ranking making.
The aim of the university ranking is to estimate the abilities of the universities to provide high - quality knowledge, skills and abilities for graduate students, based on the conditions of their obtaining and application.
Ranking of the best Russian universities RAEX-100 is an integrated evaluation of the quality of training of university graduate students, determined by the quantitative parameters of their educational scientific and research activities and qualitative characteristics, which reflect the opinion of key reference groups: employers, representatives of the academic and scientific circles, as well as students and graduate students. University survey data, research chops and information from free sources are used for statistical information. Universities of a creative and sports orientation, as well as law enforcement agencies cannot participate in the ranking. Only flagship universities can be subjects to the ranking. Their branches are not considered by the compilers of the ranking.
