VSTU is in the top 100 of the best Russian universities

The International information group “Interfax” has provided XI th annual National ranking of the universities (NRU) 2020.
In the overall ranking Volgograd state technical university occupies 80 th position and it is the best result among theVolgograd universities.
According to the basic direction: “Education” – VSTU is on 44 th place and it is also the best result among the Volgograd universities. According to other criteria Volgograd flagship technical university occupies the following positions: “Researches – 71 th place, “Innovations” – 48 th position, “Brand” – 97 th place and so forth.

Activity of 337 Russian leading universities and educational institutions, including one national research center has been estimated within the framework of the project of NRU.
Lomonosov Moscow State university leads the list of the best Russian universities. National Research Nuclear University “MEPHI” is on the second place, and the third one is occupied by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
The ranking includes all high-status universities of the country: 29 national research universities, 10 federal, 33 flagship and 21 universities which participate in the Project 5-100. Activity of 7 non-state universities was also estimated.
Activity of the universities has been estimated according to six criteria: educational, scientific and research activities, social environment, internationalization (international cooperation); brand; innovations and technological entrepreneurship.
Assessment is made according to the processing of the data of questionnaire forms completed by the representatives of the universities, available public data, posted by the educational institutions on their websites, public data from the information resources of the Ministry of science and higher education of the Russian Federation as well as the information from the research and analytic systems SPARK and SCAN.
The project National Ranking of the Universities (NRU) has been provided by the Group “Interfax” since 2010. Its aim is to develop the mechanisms and procedures for the independent assessment system of the Russian universities and their educational programs, increase competitiveness of the Russian system of education, scientific researches and technological entrepreneurship, develop federal and regional universities.
