VSTU – one of the leaders of staff training for the digital economy in Russia

7.06.2019

VSTU – a flagship university is on the 31 place in the sphere of “Information technologies” in the rating of RAEX agency.

It was the first time when RAEX has prepared rating of the best Russian universities in the sphere of Information technologies upon the initiative of the company SIBINTEK, taking into consideration high topicality of a “digital” theme in 2019.

And here it should be noted that over the last years educational institutions started to show increased interest in this sphere.

In particular, a lot of Russian universities started to pay attention to the study of so-called “cross-cutting” technologies, which may have a vast scope of application – be used in different fields and for various purposes.

Among such directions, which are highly demanded all over the world there are the following ones – bockchain technologies, supercomputer technologies and Big Data, neurotechnologies, quantum technologies, new manufacturing technologies (for example 3D printing) and others.

Alongside with digitization two directions, intended by the government also have great influence on Russian universities.

The first one is a focus on the development of scientific researches. The second – extension of international integration, including, in particular, strengthening of relationships with representatives of foreign academic community. Statistics, collected by RAEX in preparation of rating shows that specified general line has become decisive for the development of universities.

Thus, for the last years Russian universities have achieved the greatest progress in the preparation of scientific publications. All bibliometric indicators (a number of articles per employee, the frequency of their citations per employee and others) of the members of RAEX rating have been growing rapidly over the last few years.

If according to the results of rating 2018 there were in average 0,35 publications a year per one academic from 100 universities of Russia, then according to the results of the present rating there are already 0, 46 publications.

Statistic indicators as well as the results of surveys of more than 60 thousand respondents, representatives of academic and scientific circles, students, graduates, and employers were used in preparation of the rating.
